How is a Medal Made?
Every Fount of Grace piece begins in prayerful inspiration, followed by a multi-step journey across the USA from concept to final polish. Here’s how we transform an idea into a beautiful, lasting expression of faith:
1. Hand Sketch in Adoration
Each design begins with a sketch drawn during Adoration, where inspiration flows from a sacred space. Our designers draw on tradition and prayer to create concepts that reflect the beauty and depth of the Catholic faith.
2. Computer-Aided Design (CAD) in 3D
Once the initial sketches are ready, we move to CAD for a 3-D rendering. This stage brings the design to life on screen, allowing us to perfect every detail and envision the pendant as it will appear in reality.

3. CNC Cutting of the Master
After the design is finalized in CAD, we transfer it to our CNC machine, which carefully carves the master model. This model is the foundation of every piece to follow, made with precision to capture even the finest details.
4. Creating the Master Mold for Wax Injections
After the master model is finished by the CNC machining process, we then create a master mold. The intricate details from the master model are transferred to the mold through this process.

5. Wax Injection and Tree Formation for Casting
Wax models are created from the mold and carefully arranged on a ‘tree’ to prepare for casting. The wax tree is surrounded by plaster and then placed in an oven to cure and melt the wax, creating a negative space for the metal.

6. Pouring the Molten Metal
Molten metal is poured into the plaster molds, filling the spaces left by the wax. As the metal cools, it hardens into its final shape, faithfully capturing the intricate details of the original design.
7. Hand-Polishing to Perfection
Once cooled, each piece is carefully removed from the plaster, cleaned and then individually hand-polished. This final step brings out the full beauty of each piece, ready to be worn as a cherished symbol of faith.
Every step in our manufacturing process is designed to honor the tradition and meaning behind each piece. From the first sketch to the final polish, our dedication is evident, making each item an extraordinary testament to craftsmanship and devotion.
